How the calculation works

Depop's US selling fee is 0%. There's no line item for it in your breakdown below — showing a $0.00 "selling fee" row would just be clutter for something that doesn't exist.

What you do pay is payment processing: 3.3% + $0.45, charged on the full order total (sale price + buyer-paid shipping + any tax).

If you boost a listing, Boosted Listings adds 12% on top. Its base depends on how the item ships: if you use Depop Shipping, the 12% is on the sale price only; if you use your own shipping label, it's on sale price plus buyer-paid shipping. Either way, the Boost fee's base never includes sales tax.

Boost eligibility and rates can depend on when a listing was created, so if a Boosted number here doesn't match what you're seeing in the Depop app, that's usually why.

A real example

Take an $80 sale, no boost, with a $25 item cost and $7 in seller-paid shipping. Here's what Depop actually takes and what you keep:

Frequently asked questions

Why don't I see a "selling fee" line for Depop?
Because US sellers currently pay 0% selling fee — there's genuinely nothing to show. Payment processing is the only fee on an un-boosted Depop sale.
Does Boost cost more if I use my own shipping label?
It can. With Depop Shipping, the 12% Boost fee is calculated on the sale price alone. With your own shipping, it's calculated on sale price plus buyer-paid shipping — a larger base, so a larger fee for the same 12% rate.
Does sales tax affect the Boost fee?
No — Boost's base is sale price (and sometimes shipping), never tax, regardless of shipping method.
